Russian Post has become the main logistics operator of Obuv Rossii online marketplace

Obuv Rossii Group, the first public Russian fashion retailer, and Russian Post JSC are expanding their cooperation. As part of a long-term partnership of two companies, Russian Post will be the main logistics operator of Obuv Rossii online marketplace and will deliver online orders from the retailer's regional warehouse to retail outlets.

In March, Obuv Rossii launched an online marketplace in test mode; it is based on the online store of westfalika.ru, the main brand of the Group. Now customers can order on the online platform the goods which are not available in the retail outlets and choose a click-and-collect service or courier delivery to any address. It is possible to order Bohemia Czech tableware, large-sized goods for travel, sports etc. It is also possible to make an order right on the spot. 30 outlets of the Siberian region which are the part of the test project have been equipped with special zones with a PC and internet access.

Test outlets are located in the city of Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk region as well as in Tomsk, Kemerovo, Barnaul and Biysk. The product delivered by Russian Post from the central warehouse to these outlets is available for pick-up the next day or the day after placing the order.

The company has the largest chain of offices and is the largest express delivery operator in Russia, — says Timur Efimov, e-commerce department manager of Obuv Rossii Group. — Now, the online marketplace's warehouse is opened in Novosibirsk, so the goods will be delivered from this warehouse to 30 test outlets which are the part of the project. The cooperation with Russian Post allows us to offer our customers rapid delivery of goods to any address, including our outlets, and issuing of orders as soon as possible."

And if now the project is being tested only in several Siberian cities, then after having considered all possible integrations for the services provided, we will launch the project on a full-scale basis", says Maxim Kryzhanovsky, Deputy E-commerce Director of MR Sibir of Russian Post JSC.

In February 2020, Obuv Rossii announced its plans to develop an online marketplace on the basis of the westfalika.ru online store. This project will allow the Group to grow the retail efficiency without increasing retail space, and expand the audience of online buyers with inhabitants of towns where the penetration level of online sales is not very high, and senior consumers who have not had much experience in online purchases yet. According to the company's plans, when the online marketplace reaches full capacity, it will increase retail revenue by more than 30% in the next two years.
